Valentine's at Tuckamore
Happy love day! Instead of individual posts, I’ve combined some photos taken over these last few weeks. We’ve been crafting, reading, themed playlist making, baking, and hosting.
When we say, “ remember when…”, it’s rarely a fussy or costly event that stands out. It’s a memory of shared experience, of joy, of being with those we love. My goal surrounding holidays has been to avoid saying, “I’ll do that next year”. To live as though the next isn’t promised.
So!
We hosted a Valentine’s Day Tea for Theodora’s (Teddy) youngest of cousins. It was a fun, I would even say sticky, event.
We did some simple cookie decorating (store bought package) and threw on a love day themed playlist I made the day before for them to dance to and essentially run wild.
Around the house and in the windows of the dining room where they created their cookie masterpieces, I hung these easy to make paper hearts. I also used them to make a paper heart garland for across our fireplace mantle.
Aside from the paper hearts, I kept the decor pretty minimal. We did grab some grocery store tulips and I put out Theodora’s Valentine’s Day books downstairs while the littles were here.
For the Valentine’s Tea I also put out homemade cards for the kids to take home. I used a heart punch from Amazon and the same card stock I had used for the fan hearts as a festive envelop seal. I spotted the old time feeling idea in one of Theodora’s Valentine’s day books: The Best Thing About Valentine’s Day, a vintage scholastic find.
A big part of the Valentine’s season for us has been a love themed playlist we’ve had on repeat.
I hope this day is extra sweet to you and yours.
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by, hope to see you again soon, -Samantha
